French newspaper Le Parisien has reported that Daft Punk has transferred from EMI to Sony, in preparation for a new album to be released this year. To many people, this is the biggest news that could possibly ever happen. From the newspaper, with some help from Google Translate:“Daft Punk has found a new home. After three albums with EMI, the helmeted duo is about to sign with Sony for his next album. Unless the contract is already signed. Not clear with these two, who cultivate secrecy since their inception and anonymity, although some have been privileged glimpse Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo, openly, at the launch party for the album Kavinsky his friend last week. But the case is heard. The fourth album of Daft Punk released this spring, Sony, its subsidiary Columbia.”Yeah, so Google Translate isn’t exactly perfect – but the gist of it is clear. The larger than life superstars are prepping for a new album. It’s not the Coachella headline spot that everyone (including Coachella) wanted to happen, but it’s new material from Daft Punk. Brace yourself. Now we sit and pray for a tour. Make it happen. Somebody.
The National Brings Together Bon Iver, Kurt Vile, Vampire Weekend, and more for Grateful Dead Tribute Album
Honoring the legacy of a band as timeless and celebrated as the Grateful Dead is just the task The National have been up to. The shadowy indie rockers have been hard at work unraveling the golden road of some of their most beloved Dead tunes, but they haven’t taken the entire album into their own hands.Frontman Aaron Dessner confirmed with Relix that some collaborations will include Bon Iver, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Vampire Weekend, The Walkmen, and The War on Drugs. The incredibly diverse and prominently folky lineup will be sure to offer a poignant and new perspective on the Dead’s music. As of today, the album’s beginning were reported back in April 2011, and it’s release date is still up in the air.The National performed as guests on Bob Weir’s weekly webcast on Weir Here from TRI Studios. Check out a clip of the session below, and try to releive some anticipation for the record!

Producer Rob Swire, of Pendulum and Knife Party, was left frightened and confused when he experienced complete hearing loss in his left ear for four days. Finally he figured out the problem: a key component in most e-cigarettes called propylene glycol. The chemical is used as a solvent in e-juices and is ototoxic, meaning toxic to the cochlea or auditory nerve. Be careful vaping, kids![Source] Apparently due to the relatively new emergence of e-cigs, there isn’t too much information available. After some extensive research Swire came up with some links to keep his followers informed: check them out here, here, here and here.Swire feels so passionately about the matter that he promised to fund research towards the cause.
